HoD Biographical Notes

The department is headed by Dr.P.PREMKUMAR. He has completed his B.E. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Erode Sengunthar Engineering College, Erode, M.E. degree in Applied Electronics at K.S. Rangasamy college of technology, Tiruchengode and Ph.D. degree from Anna University in the years 2001, 2004 and 2015 respectively. He has 17 years of teaching experience and research experience of 13 years. He is working in K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology from 2001 at different levels like Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor and Professor and Head. His research work focuses on “Efficient energy management system for Renewable energy sources” and “Intelligent controllers for industrial drives”. He has supervised 10 PG scholars. He has guided 17 UG projects. He has published 10 international and two national journal papers.  His scholarly publications are found in IET, Elsevier (UK), Inderscience (UK), CPRI (INDIA) and ACTA press (Australian journal). He has stablished two research laboratories under AICTE-MODROB scheme. He is regularly submitting research proposals to various funding agencies like CSIR, DST and AICTE. He has attended 5 National and 8 International conferences and organized 5 and attended 10 workshops. Under his leadership, the Outcome Based Education (OBE) has been successfully implemented in the department. He is awarded ELITE certificate in NPTEL online course named “Discrete Signal Processing”. He is rewarded as actively participation in “NPTEL-SPOC” and scored AA grade since 2015 and being Co-ordinator in PALS – IIT Alumni Industry Interaction Center. He is energetic member in “CII education Chapter in Erode zone”.
