Virtusa’s CoE on CRM
The leading IT giant Virtusa launched its flagship Centre of Excellence (CoE) named Customer Relationship Management (CRM) & Software Testing CoE at K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode. Virtusa’s Centers of Excellence (CoE) program across academic institutes ensures industry readiness of fresh talent. This is for Day 1 deployable and billable resources available who is equivalent to a one -year experienced resource. The unique approach of establishing ‘Campus Centers of Excellence’ across institutes aims at training the faculty and students on current technologies and platforms. The students who are then recruited, experience a smooth transition into the industry. Otherwise, it is called as Hire – Train – Deploy model. Identify, shape, nurture talent in technology space and focus on making student’s jobs ready from day 1 helps them get a head start to their career.
Selection of institutes based on how technically Institution is sound and how far it will be able to pick up one of the niche technologies and train the students. Faculties from institutes are identified, called for the “Train the Trainer” program. The training is anchored by subject matter experts. Identified faculty will go through a certification program, ensuring that they qualify to handle the program. The hiring of candidates happens at the institutes. Students are selected based on technical skills like coding, testing, etc. Selected students will undergo extensive training programs during the final semester, led by trained faculty. These, in turn, are monitored by the Virtusa GTP team, evaluating candidates constantly on topics covered. Selected candidates are put through a certification program soon before they join the organization. So far 2 Faculty and 100 students have been trained on CRM & Testing. Virtusa recruited nineteen students from KSR Institutions. Selected students have undergone extensive training on CRM and Testing onboarded at Chennai and Bangalore.
