Our Institution is situated in Namakkal District, and it is juxtaposed by nearby districts like Erode, Tirupur and Karur. The strategic location of our Institution is that it is located in the midst of textile industries. The nearby Karur district is recognized as Town of Export Excellence in the field of Home Textiles. Tirupur district is the hub of all the accomplishments as far as the textile industry is concerned. To tap these bounty potentials in the textile industry, an engineering college needs to introduce the branch of Textile Engineering. Hence, the pioneer of the course being reassured, KSRCT started the Textile Technology Department in the year 1997. The central government has established a power loom training center under the aegis of Power loom Development Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL) in Erode to impart training in developing designs for weavers and providing training in machinery working and maintenance of power looms and latest weaving machines. The main advantage of our Institution is the proximity to all industries for company visits and enables students to take up internships in the areas of their choice. The department has strong links with the textile industries located in Tirupur, Karur, Coimbatore, Chennai, Bangalore, New Delhi and Mumbai as well as other parts of India and overseas too. The Department of Textile Technology has professionally well qualified and highly experienced faculty members with research and industrial experience.
